Carnaval Press is an international poetry publishing project created by Virna Teixeira, a Brazilian poet and translator based in London. Virna started her experience as an independent publisher in 2009 in São Paulo with Arqueria Editorial, designing stitched chapbooks of Latin American poetry, as a resistance to a very male oriented publishing market at that time in Brazil.
After moving to London, she started Carnaval Press in 2015, to divulge Brazilian contemporary poetry in the UK. It has expanded to include Ibero-american authors, and is now an international project.
In 2022 Carnaval Press will launch the anthology DISEASE, in collaboration with sun seekers project and poet Rushika Wick.
The project is not open to submissions at the moment.
