Carnaval Press is an independent poetry publisher based in London, working across Latin American, Brazilian, and international writing. Founded in 2015, the press focuses on contemporary poetry, translation, and experimental work, with a strong—though not exclusive—commitment to publishing women writers and underrepresented voices.
The project grew out of earlier independent publishing work in Brazil and retains an artisanal, hands-on approach to bookmaking and design. Carnaval Press publishes carefully curated titles that move between languages, geographies, and literary traditions, fostering dialogue across borders.
Carnaval Press’s catalogue began with bilingual publications by Brazilian poets and has since expanded to include collections by international authors. Recent titles include Disease, an anthology produced in collaboration with the online publishing project sunseekers, and New York City Jail & Other Stories by Serbian poet and writer Nina Živančević.
Carnaval Press is connected to Theodora, an online literary magazine with contributors from Latin America and Europe, extending the press’s engagement with contemporary poetry and international literary exchange.
Prices include postage to the UK.
